Notice of the introduction of accommodation tax from April 1, 2026

An accommodation tax will be introduced in Hokkaido and Sapporo City for stays from April 1, 2026.

■ Tax start date
For stays from April 1, 2026 onwards
*Even if you make a reservation before April 1, 2026, the accommodation tax will be levied from April 1 onwards.

■ Accommodation tax rate
The tax will be charged per person per night according to the following rates:

Less than 20,000 yen	300 yen	100 yen	200 yen

■ Other
・Accommodation tax is to be paid at the hotel separately from the accommodation fee.
- School trips and other school events may be exempt from tax if certain requirements are met.
